Idealism and cynicism clash on the road in Africa. Simon (Andrew Simpson), a young Irishman, is traveling across the continent to get to his doctor girlfriend in Mozambique. Stuck in Malawi, he hitches a ride with a nomadic older couple Casper (Derek de Lint) and Kate (Belinda Stewart-Wilson). Without wishing it, Simon becomes embroiled in their complicated history. Their dark psychological relationship becomes infecting.
‘All That Way For Love’ is a perceptive examination of the character of travellers; nomadic westerners who can’t or won’t put down roots. The film explores the complexities of human sexual relationships and the bonds between people. Set against the stunning backdrop of East Africa, 'All That Way For Love' is a beautiful tragic thriller.
Belinda Stewart-Wilson (The Inbetweeners) plays the intriguing and seductive Kate. Andrew Simpson (Notes On A Scandal) captures the naivety and idealism of Simon. And veteran actor, Derek de Lint (Black Book, Deep Impact) portrays the powerful and troubled Casper.
Shot on location in Kenya in 2012, All That Way For Love premiered at the LA Shorts Festival and was rated by CBS as one of the top 5 films of the entire Tribeca Film Festival in 2012.
Andrew Simpson was named BEST MALE ACTOR for his role in the film at the Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2012 beating competition from the likes of John Hurt, Colin Firth, Stephen Fry, Chris O'Dowd, Bill Bailey and Ciaran Hinds.
